From Humble Beginnings
Rocking Horse Center opened its doors in 1999 with a goal of providing comprehensive healthcare to 1,700 children, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay for enhanced medical services.
Over the years, our community has championed for Rocking Horse Center to become a community health center for all ages. We have stepped up to the challenge and understand that every person deserves a medical home and primary care that is accessible, continuous, comprehensive, family-centered, coordinated, compassionate and culturally effective.
In March of 2009, Rocking Horse Center was awarded full status designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We have expanded our services to adult patients and over the next year will be providing Obstetrics and Dental Services.
It’s been almost eleven years since the first child stepped foot in the colorful lobby on S. Limestone St. Now with four locations, Rocking Horse Community Health Center serves over 13,500 patients, both children and adults, with more than 56,000 visits. Our approach to comprehensive healthcare in a medical home setting is unsurpassed, and with our ever-increasing multidisciplinary team, we will continue to serve our community in need.
