Position Title:  Medical Assistant

Primary Service Center:  Women’s Services (Pre-natal)

Work Hours:  Full-time, 40 hours per week, some evenings and Saturdays may be required.

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Requirements: Rocking Horse Center seeks a professional, top-performing Medical Assistant for this customer service position in our Women’s Services (pre-natal) business office. The position is approximately 80% clerical/administrative, and 20% clinical, as detailed in the position summary below.  Requirements for this position include an outgoing, positive attitude; a consistent focus on providing excellent customer service; and the ability to multitask while maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers in a fast paced environment. 

Position Summary:  Full-time position responsible for supporting clinical operations at Rocking Horse Community Health Center. Responsibilities include greeting patients and directing them appropriately; performing check-in and check-out for patients using practice management computer system; collecting accurate information and entering data; verifying insurance and collecting co-pays; using various office machines; maintaining electronic health records (EHR) and charts; general filing either by hand or electronically, including scanning of documents to EHR system;  completing prior authorizations obtaining and recording data for medical records/ authorizing drug refills as directed; telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy; and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:  Certification of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assisting program required.

Position Title:  Staff Nurse

Primary Service Center:  Adult Medical Home

Work Hours:  Full-time, 40 hours per week, evenings and weekends may be required

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Position Summary:  The nurse represents the care team and coordinates patient centered care.  Providing nursing care within the relevant legal scope of practice as directed by the physicians and nurse practitioners, the Nurse provides support by assisting with procedures, obtaining patient history, verifying med reconciliation, phlebotomy, vaccine administration, medication administration, telephone triage, appointment scheduling, and other general office duties.  The Nurse also explains procedures and treatments to patients in a manner that elicits cooperation and understanding and allays apprehension; initiates patient education as prescribed by the physician or nurse practitioner; and coordinates ancillary care for pediatric patients. The Nurse and is responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care and HIPAA compliance, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:  Must be licensed in the State of Ohio as RN or LPN.

The CA rooms each patient to prepare the patient for his/her visit with the medical team obtaining vital signs, histories, appropriate screenings and reasons for the visit.  The CA also performs routine tests to prepare the patient for his/her visit with the medical team. 

Requirements:  Requirements for this direct patient-care position include an outgoing, positive attitude; a consistent focus on providing efficient and excellent service; and the ability to multitask while maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers in a fast paced environment. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Willingness to learn necessary types of computer applications including electronic health record system; ability to work in a team environment and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and patients; and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, required. Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred and/or knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Position Title:  Telepsychiatry Case Manager

Primary Service Center: Behavioral Health

Work Hours:  Full-Time (40 hours per week).  Schedule is 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Friday

FLSA Status: Exempt (Salaried)

Position Summary:  The Telepsychiatry Case Manager serves as the on-site clinician for all telepsychiatry appointments.  The case manager is present in all patient appointments, and works as a liaison between the patient, psychiatrist, other behavioral health professionals and outside community resources when necessary.  The case manager accurately documents their services and case notes in the patient’s electronic medical record.

Requirements:  Licensed Social Worker in the State of Ohio.  Additional requirements for this direct patient-care position include an outgoing, positive attitude; ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers and the physician; and the ability to multitask while maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers in a fast paced environment.

Position Summary:  Full-time position responsible for assisting with patient centered care at Rocking Horse Center. Performs a variety of routine duties assist behavioral health medical and clinical staff in the examination and treatment of patients to include:  completing prior authorizations obtaining and recording data for medical records, taking medical histories and recording vital signs; explaining treatment procedures to patients; preparing patients for examinations; assisting the physician during the examination; perform basic laboratory tests on the premises and dispose of contaminated supplies; sterilize medical instruments; promote patient/family understanding of the educational content and his/her involvement in the plan of care, and document in patient record;  prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician; authorize drug refills as directed; telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy; initiate and receive telephone calls as appropriate; schedule follow-up visits with behavioral health providers; and provide other assistance to the psychiatry department as assigned or needed.

Requirements:  Certification of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assisting program required.
