Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician (Adult Medical Home)

Family Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric Medical Home)

Behavioral Health Therapist (LISW/LPCC - Pediatric Behavioral Health Home)

Position Title:  Medical Biller or Certified Coder

Primary Service Center: Administrative

Work Hours:  Full time, 40 hours per week. 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Position Summary:  The Biller/Certified Coder verifies insurance, establishes payment plans for patients, contacts patients with outstanding balances, reviews ICD-9 and CPT codes for daily fee tickets, processes charge entry to patient accounts in computerized billing system, performs data entry related to billing and posting of payments, creates and mails insurance claims and patient statements, responds to patient billing and billing statement inquiries, makes recommendations to management for “write-offs,” performs other duties as assigned. If a Certified Coder, reviews patient medical records and assigns codes to diagnoses and procedures performed so the facility can bill insurance and other third-party payers. 

Requirements:  Medical billing experience required.  Certification as a Medical Biller/Coder strongly preferred.  Work requires the ability to accurately enter information into computerized billing system and the ability to function in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility toward new concepts.

Position Title:  Medical Assistant

Primary Service Center:  Behavioral Health Home

Work Hours:  Full-time, 40 hours per week, some evenings and Saturdays may be required.

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Position Summary:  Full-time position responsible for assisting with patient centered care at Rocking Horse Center. Performs a variety of routine duties assist behavioral health medical and clinical staff in the examination and treatment of patients to include:  completing prior authorizations obtaining and recording data for medical records, taking medical histories and recording vital signs; explaining treatment procedures to patients; preparing patients for examinations; assisting the physician during the examination; perform basic laboratory tests on the premises and dispose of contaminated supplies; sterilize medical instruments; promote patient/family understanding of the educational content and his/her involvement in the plan of care, and document in patient record;  prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician; authorize drug refills as directed; telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy; initiate and receive telephone calls as appropriate; schedule follow-up visits with behavioral health providers; and provide other assistance to the psychiatry department as assigned or needed.

Requirements:  Certification of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assisting program required.
